WOOD PANELS FOR HOME WALLS
A trend that we have already talked about on our blog, and that we like a lot, are bathroom wall panels. Whether for our main home or vacation home, this type of work requires interior design techniques and styles from carpentry companies . It is a very successful solution when we are faced with an uneven surface or in poor condition due to humidity, decoration or remains of wallpaper . Another option is to divide spaces by creating partitions with solid boards or plywood.
The wallcoverings can be of various materials, including chipboard and MDF, a composite material of medium density fibreboard. Here we will focus on the styles and the natural material with which we work in internalwallpanels for houses and premises in Barcelona and Catalonia. We will cite the reasons why it is better to opt for organic materials and the styles to cover walls.
TECHNIQUES AND TYPES OF WOOD TO COVER WALLS
So, the wallpaper no longer takes? As everything that is decoration is subject to fashions, after the boom experienced by wallpapers in the 70s, paper has remained as a complementary option to partially cover a room or a wall. But not as the main option, since an ornate wall does not combine well with the minimalist, functional and diaphanous style that predominates in decoration and interior design.
The advantages of choosing wood for interior walls is that it is a natural, warm material, with pleasant colors to look at and that contributes to creating a welcoming environment. It is an insulating material, both to preserve the ambient temperature and to dampen noise, which is a great advantage both at home and in offices and commercial premises . To this is added the sustainable part: it is free of toxins, does not generate waste, 100% recyclable and at internalwallpanels we work with the certification that meets the standards of sustainable forest management.
Wooden wall panels also adapt to all budgets, depending above all on the type of material and the technique used. Coatings are basically of these three types:
- Wall covering: For the complete covering of a wall, it is better to use a wood resistant to both humidity and temperature changes. In full cladding, the boards can be laid in different orientations: vertically, horizontally or diagonally. The orientation of the tables will give a different visual aspect in each case, being the vertical the one that visually lengthens the room the most, and the diagonal the most risky depending on the material and the rest of the decoration.
- Friezes : Friezes adorn the lower part of the wall, but they can also be used to decorate the upper or central part. In these cases, the boards are usually placed in a vertical orientation and in light colors so as not to create a too strident visual contrast. It is an option not so risky and that decoratively looks very good.
- Pallets : Pallets are the cheapest option since you can place them yourself, and they give a somewhat rustic appearance as they are sawn and untreated material.
