Manifold
The manifold is the first component in the exhaust system. The job of a manifold is to collect and distribute exhaust gases to each of the cylinders.
The manifold is the single pipe that joins all the exhaust pipes exiting out of the engine. The manifold sits over the engine and its purpose is to take all the exhaust from all cylinders and get it out of the car.
Flex Pipe
A flex pipe is a coupling made of metal that allows exhaust gases to go from one pipe to another without any restrictions. Flex pipes are used for various car remodeling applications.
Flex pipe is the exhaust pipe that is made up of smaller pipes and has an outer layer of steel and the inner layer of rubber hose. Flex pipes are used to connect silencer, muffler, or resonator with other major exhaust parts to prevent any vibration, noise, or harmful gases from disturbing the environment
Catalytic Converter
Catalytic Converters is an emission control device found in automobiles. The converter’s main purpose is to reduce vehicle emissions and, as a result, improve the environment. Catalytic converters work on the principle of reducing harmful emissions by converting harmful gases into less harmful gases.
Oxygen Sensors
Oxygen Sensors are a secondary air-fuel ratio feedback device used to monitor the air-fuel ratio. The O2 sensor is one of the most critical sensors in engine management and emissions control systems. It provides a signal to the computers on whether the mixture of air and fuel is too lean or too rich. There are many kinds of oxygen sensors currently in use in modern engines today.
Gaskets
Gaskets, a very important part of your exhaust system that keeps it sealed and protected from the surrounding elements. Sealed, crimped, and soldered joints create an airtight seal that prevents vacuum leakage which makes exhaust gases escape. Exhaust gaskets play a huge role in maintaining the integrity of the exhaust system.
Muffler Assemblies
Muffler assemblies are typically used to reduce the noise of an engine. At some point, you may have wondered how a muffler assembly works. There are several types of mufflers but they all work on the same principle, which is to dissipate the energy in gases produced by burning fuel in the engine.
