Ingredients needed to make White Chocolate Lattes at your home
With the quantity mentioned below, you can make 2 servings of white chocolate latte.
  • 5 cups of whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon of heavy cream
  • A very small amount of vanilla extract (around 1teaspoon will do)
  • 1 tablespoon of white sugar
  • ½ cup brewed espresso
  • ¼ chopped white chocolate chips
  • Process

Take a big saucepan and pour the milk and cream into it. Whisk the contents over high heat until you notice the mixture turning frothy. If you don’t have a whisker, you can use a hand-held blender as well to get the froth right.
Once the mixture has turned frothy, you need to switch off the flame. Add the vanilla extract and sugar into the milk & cream mixture once you have removed the saucepan from the heat. Mix the contents well so that they are blended well.
Take two cups and pour the ½ cup brewed espresso equally in them. Now add the ¼ cup of chopped white chocolate chips in the cups and give the contents a nice whisk so that the chocolate is blended smoothly with the coffee.
Pour the milk& cream (with vanilla and sugar) mixture into coffee & chocolate blend and stir well. Add a spoon of froth as a topping in both the cups to enjoy your fresh and hot home-made white chocolate latte.
Now, that did seem quite easy and simple, didn’t it?
Healthy Variations
You can make the following variations in your recipe to make the white chocolate latte light and healthy. When you follow this method, you don’t have to wait for a season or occasion to enjoy your creamy lattes. You can drink it regularly because it doesn’t have as many calories as the original version.
You can replace whole milk with any other variety of dairy-free milk. Soy, almond, cashew, coconut, hazelnut, etc. are good choices that you can try.
You can avoid the whole cream totally in your healthy recipe.
Now, this may get you thinking about the quality of froth that the milk will generate. Even if you don’t use fresh cream, you can still make the dairy-free milk of your choice reasonably frothy with a simple technique. Before pouring the milk into the saucepan, pour it into a mason jar and give the jar a nice shake. In a few minutes, you will notice the milk doubling up in size because of the froth created. Alternatively, you can also use a whisker or blender once you have poured the milk into the saucepan to create the froth, similar to the method followed in the original recipe.
You can replace white sugar with any other natural sweetener of your choice. Honey, maple syrup and stevia are good choices. Stevia, especially, is a plant-based sweeter and doesn’t contain any artificial flavours. It is very healthy as well.
You can replace the white chocolate chips with the sugar-free chocolate varieties that you get in the stores.
