In the era of digital data explosion businesses and individuals deal with large files and data every day. Earlier we had to only rely on email attachment and FTP or File Transfer Protocol servers to send large files to collaborate properly. But with the advancements of technology, sending large files need no added knowledge or management to handle nowadays. You only need to follow a few simple steps while using a file-sharing platform and send large files within minutes.
Step 1: Add Files
For sharing the file, you want to send, start by clicking on ‘Start’ and select the files after choosing the ‘Add files’ button. Here you can also select a folder if your internet browser is compatible.
Step 2: Add contacts
After selecting the files, add the email address of your recipient and view the email addresses added to your transfer above the field ‘emails from your contacts’. You can also add multiple email addresses by separating them with “;” or “,” and cancel a previously added email address by clicking on it.
- Using address book- A premium account will enable you to use the address book for easy selection of the recipients to add them to your file transfer. You can also find the contacts easily by using the search feature.
- Using the contact list-you can also use the previously created contact list as a premium user and send files even faster to your contacts.
Step 3: Add your email address
After adding the email addresses of your contacts, you need to add your email id to get the copy of the information in your file transfer.
Step 4: Add subject to your file transfer
To make the file transfer more identifiable for your contacts, add a subject that will be visible on the emails sent to the recipients to inform them that the files are available along with the download page pf your transfer. This subject line will also be specified on the ZIP format folder that contains all your files.
Step 5: Adding a message
Along with the subject, you can also add a message that will be visible in the content of your emails that your recipients will receive.
Step 6: Add a password
For ensuring and adding an extra layer of security to your files, opt for adding a password instead and your contacts can only get the access if you personally share the password with them.
Step 7: Confirm the transfer
Once you’ve done with all the steps mentioned above, validate your file transfer to send the files. You’ll also check for a recap-email later and save time without waiting for the files to upload.
Along with optional steps like adding a subject, message and password, you can also defer and choose the life span of the transfer.
With the growing amount of data, file sharing is a boon to business and individuals to collaborate and maintain a seamless communication without being physically present.
